rcguy
I’m hoping to find an individual or business in the Minneapolis west metro area to repair the tip on my musky rod. Looking to drop it off around the Buffalo area rather than drive out to Thorne Bros or send it somewhere for repair. Thanks for the help. bltbowhunter
Did the rod actually break or do you just need a new guide/tip top put on it?
rcguy
About an inch of the tip broke off. I've tried to fix it myself with a new eyelet on the shortened rod but the rod is too thick for most repair kits you can get at the big box stores.Thanks. upnorth
You may be able to order a new tip top to fit. The sizes are listed in 64th of an inch. Calipers of some sort may help. Mudhole or the likes could most likely send one out. Some high temp hot glue and you are in business.I take that back some stuff is in mm now. click me And a quick google search will give you a conversion. Example 6.4 mm is almost exactly 1/4 inch. Brad B
I’m hoping to find an individual or business in the Minneapolis west metro area to repair the tip on my musky rod. Looking to drop it off around the Buffalo area rather than drive out to Thorne Bros or send it somewhere for repair. Thanks for the help. check with H&H in Maple Lake. they do have limited rod tips that they can put on. the other option is if you want it done right away I can do it but I would need to see the rod and then order the correct size in for it. I could have it done in about a week or less (depends on how fast the new tip would get here). I am in Monticello. all I ask is that you would pay for the tip and the shipping. PM me if you want to set this up.

rcguy
Brad B did an excellent job with my musky rod. He replaced both the tip and a eyelet which had a small chip broken out of the ceramic center. Looks better than the original (if I could just figure out how to post a picture I would show off his work).Remember, my boat always has an open spot if you want to drag a leech around with me!Thanks again Brad - nice work. Brad B
Not a problem. It was a easy fix. as for posting pictures, you click on the little symbol(fifth from left, the one with the blue arrow pointing up) above the reply box and once there it will let you browse your computer for the pic you want to add. once you have the pic you want to add then click add picture. once done adding pics click done. after this I always like to do a preview before posting to make sure the picture shows up right. hope this helps if not I can meet up with you sometime and show you how to do it.
