Da Biggin
So... some bozo took it upon themselves to enter my garage without my knowing and relieve me of every ice rod I own. This is after traversing my pull over ice house, moving both my open water and hard water tackle bags, and relocating all of my open water rods. (The things I'd like to do to that somebody if I ever got the opportunity!) I digress... I was doing some window shopping while trying not to loose my "spit" and saw that Fenwick has a new line of ice rods available. From my inspection they seem to have some of the softest tips and strongest backbones of any non-custom made rods on the market. I am wondering if anyone else has any input on these before I spend the money trying to replace my tried and trues.(I'm guna miss those rods... many of memories made... I almost feel like I've lost an appendage.)Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated!
fishfinder72
Sorry to hear about someone relieving you of your ice gear. I know how I would feel to be without all of my stuff I worked hard to acquire. On that note I got a chance to check out the new Fenwick Aetos ice rods this past weekend. They do seem like a solid built rod but push what I would generally spend on a rod. I have quite a mixed bag of gear and am not particular to any one brand but if you are looking for quality I would say it wouldnt hurt to give one a try. MN BassFisher
I haven't felt/seen their new line yet, I'll be interested to hear what others opinions are! I recently purchased a Fenwick Elite for my GF for her first Ice Rod. I really like the feel of those ice rods, debated about keeping it for myself but I have too many combo's as it is! icefisker
I got the new aetos and I am exited to try it out. Like you said, I like the fast/sensitive tip and strong backbone. I am (slightly) worried about the size of the guides and freeze problems, but that is yet to be seen. Sorry to hear about your gear that would be gut wrenching!
