When it is very cold out I use a simple method of spraying a small layer of pam to keep anything from freezing to the trough or another very easy way to keep the fish from sticking is putting single layer of clear coat on like you would use on rims for a vehicle. That will keep the fish separated from the metal so you dont damage the fish. I have come to love my troughs alot. They are very accurate and durable.
