new auger blades wont cut.

Got on the lake this morning and my new blades won't cut. Uts a 8" Eskimo auger. Bought new 8" quantum blades by Eskimo at fleet farm this fall. The point sticks in but tge blades barely cut. I was able to drill an eight inch in about a minute at best. Any ideas? Maybe shim them if there not biting or something?

Yep. Only changed one blade at a time so I had a reference.it cut last year,just slow. Those blades appeared the same as the new ones. Just dull and knicked up.

Try searching the web for photos of the blade assembly. even a nut and bolt on upside down or blades mounted on top of the metal could effect it. not sure why new blades wouldnt bite the ice. try flipping the cutting edge of the blade upside down? its easy to confuse on eskimos especially. (done that before). haha

+1 for drock. i had bought a lazer bit from them last year and after a few outings, it went out of pitch. Instead of trying to fix it, they just gave me a new replacement!!
