stpaulslouch
I can't speak to the fishing license, but for your pheasant license you purchase 2 - 5 day periods. You are able to carry over a 5 day period if you purchase after December 15 (confirm this date on their HSOforum). I always buy my license online since you can set the dates yourself. One word of caution, if you buy it for this year make sure to set you second 5 day period to January 2014 or you risk losing it if the date passes (I know from experience). Here's a link you can use to purchase online: http://gfp.sd.gov/hunting/small-game/pheasants.aspx Let me know if that helps.
