Broken Reverse Lock

I was boating down the MN River and hit a submerged log a week ago and now the reverse lock will not engage for my 1986 Johnson 50 HP. I found a diagram and have looked at the motor, but cannot see missing parts. There are three springs that are part of this mechanism. I'm thinking one of them could have been stretched and is preventing the locking levers from engaging around the thrust rod when I flip the reverse lock handle.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
