RuKiddingMe
The bolt cutters are used in Musky fishing for when you get a fish the has all 3 trebles in it's mouth or is hooked badly. You just simply cut the hooks (in a manner that doesn't leave the ends in the fishes mouth) for a faster release. Standard side cutters won't do you any good on the bigger trebles, not enough leverage.Definetly get yourself a pair of Knipex 8" bolt cutters, Throne Brothers carries them, you can also find them online a bit cheaper. You can also go to Sears and get a pair of Craftsman.Knipex = $35 - $45Craftsmen = $10 - $15 ???RU[This message has been edited by RuKiddingMe (edited 08-06-2004).]
Woodtick
Knipex are the REAL DEAL and worth every penny if one hook is in a fish and another hook is in your hand.

Rolly22
What are you using them for?
Keith_MN
Guys,Thanks for the recomendation. I pinch the barbs on all my lures which simplifies the hook removal process, but there are still times when cutting the hooks off would make life easier I'm sure. Thanks again. ------------------Keith_MNI plan to live forever......so far so good!
