Leech Lake

I will be fishing Leech Friday and Saturday. Is anybody having good luck? Anyone willing to share info about Muskies on Leech??

I was out with a guide a few weeks ago and we fished mostly reefs and a little reeds/cabbage. We lauched out of Stoney point and the fish were active right away and as it got later and less windy, they shut down. That was the only day I fished the main lake, the rest of the week I was there I fished Portage Bay. I saw a lot of fish out on five mile and a few in the reeds north of five mile on the east shore. Two points showed a few fish but the cabbage is so spread out and spotty that it becomes a lot of water to fish. New Leech lake campground had some fish and the Pike Center Bed outside of the Federal Dam entrance showed some fish. It was a good week and I saw a lot of fish but only caught one. That was the second week of July so I'm sure they're more active now. From what the guide told me, the rocks will produce larger on average fish. Good luck and have fun.
