hey folks, i have an old abu black max that is 15 yrs old(?) and the grip had chunks of cork missing, the reel seat was well broke, the guides were all starting to come off due to the epoxy aging. but the blank is still good and i stripped the rod completely. i noticed that when i checked the spine in relation to the blank it was off 90 deg.! i repainted/epoxied the blank. but i wondered if this rod would work good as a planer board rod, it is a 7 ft MH casting model. i would be chasing eyes.
