Help!!! FL-8 Vexilar only showing green

Last night I went out for the first time of the year and my FL-8 was only showing green instead of the standard green orange and red.

Last time I used it in winter it was just fine. The battery was on a fresh charge.

I have heard a few things, 1) you might have a bad battery 2) you might have a bad transducer 3) you need to clean your brushes

I was just wondering if anyone else had the same problem and how they fixed it, thanks for your help.

Best way to fix this problem is to get another transducer to test your unit to see if you do have a bad transducer. The transducer is a crystal and are fragile!

Mine did similar showing only green so I replaced the transducer and it worked like brand new!

Bring you Vex to a store where they have transducers for sale and see if you could put their extra transducers they use for display to test your Vex!

Good Luck!

Mine only showed red....sent it in and it was a diode/resister, I got the wheel back and the diode/resister taped to a piece of paper, couldnt find it or the invoice but I believe it was around 60-70 with shipping to fix. Send it in, I had it back in a week, they looked it over and said he looked good, worked flawlessly ever since...mine is an old SLT

There are instructions on the vexilar site that shows about doing brushes

Krappielilla-

I've been to the vex shop a few times in Bloomington and they are very helpful and a great resource. To save time and money, call them up or stop in if you live in the metro and I'm sure they help you out fast and cheap.

Let us know whats the problem and maybe you can save others some time!
