Carp messing up my clarity?

I spear on a lake that is crystal clear every year and it has been so far this year too, until a couple of days ago. I'm in 8 ft of water and can barely see the bottom all of a sudden and have started seeing more and more carp running through. Is the carp movement creating this stir up of my once sandy bottom? Is it time to find a new spot? Thoughts ???

Ive had those issues and I believe carp to be the culprit aswell, Id move and check the clarity elsewhere, or it could just be the movement of the ice in the shallows causing the shallow water to dust up the bottom and make it become cloudier...

They will definitely cause that problem. Have you speared any of them?

last time I tried spearing one was an angle shot and all it did was bent 2 of my tines...... needless to say I wont be doing that again if it aint straight down...

Its unreal how tough they are. I had the same deal last year twice and just came up with a spear full of scales. It was a huge carp scales were the size of quarters.

Mines as sharp as it gets but it was an angle shot and it would have made them carp look tiny.

I figured it was the carp to blame and I have speared a couple in the past, but I haven't this year because I'm afraid of bending my spear.
