what size grommet to use?

hello, i am currently looking at up grading my spring bobber set-ups to the st.croix style. i know that most guys are using a size 8 guide to fit oonto the tip top, but what size grommet fits that guide?

I do not remember the actual size needed but I took the guide to the NAPA parts store and went through the box and found it. Almost all Auto parts stores should have them and many hardware stores also.

I would also take the spring with so you can place the grommet in the guide and then check to see if the spring fits nicely and not to tight. I keep mine so I can at least move the spring back and forth to change the tension on the spring.

The ID on the single foot 8 rings that I use is .222
