I plan to ask my vet this question to but when is a good age to begin using an electric fence with a dog? We have a 10 week old Beagle pup and I in no way plan to begin doing so anytime soon but just wondering what age is right? For now, I've built him a little pen out of fenceposts and heavy duty wire fencing if I need to leave him in the yard for half an hour or so. Our other Beagle, who is now two, began using the fence no problem at one year old when we got him last year.
