Where and how can i catch these things?

I caught some during spring.. I saw them all over a boat launch in a lake while they were preparing to spawn.

Other than that I've had no luck with white suckers.

My cousin just caught one fishing the bottom from shore on Pool 2. A decent sized one too, he sent me a picture since I've never caught one.

Where and how can i catch these things?

i have pretty decent luck in small to medium sized rivers.

shallow rocky areas with riffels. cast in front of the riffels with a Light rod, 4lb test, and a small hook tipped with a small worm (a whole worm is more natural, so a smaller worm like a trout/leaf worm are best) , with just enough split shot to get the bait to the bottom. let it float downstream naturally.

you will catch many species of fish doing that. panfish, bass, sucker, carp, even walleye or pike. but you will for sure catch sucker if they are there

can you give me any specific bodies of water and places i could go. ive never caught them and want to see if i can catch a new species.

i always get quite a few when i go to the sauk river. not many bigger fish. but quite a few nice ones
