That is wierd because the longnose gars that I catch are always where there isnt much current.

I have seen gar up in the shallows in totally dead, stagnant water during the middle of a 90 degree day. But I also catch a lot while catfishing near current breaks and deep, medium to fast current in the middle of the night. So I guess they are everywhere lol.

Anyway if anyone has any experience with gar check out my post in the catfish forum maybe you can give me some advice on handling them safely.

Im talking about longnose gar btw.

  yeah colors are interesting for sure, I think the rounded ears instead of pointed indicate wolf as well? coyote would have narrower snout as well.
