I am looking for a new vehicle to tow my boat just wondering if the chevy colarado had any major problems. Looking at a 2005 4 door 4 wheel drive with the 5 cylinder. Right now i tow with a 1997 chevy blazer just looking for some thing with ok milage and depedable.

I've got a 2005 4 door I bought new and am totally impressed with it. Nothing bad to say. I'm about to roll 100,000 on it and no major issues. Just replaced the front pads on it for the first time and they still had probably 10k miles left before they would touch the squeal bars. No major issues with the rotors so I didn't bother taking them off, but from what I hear they are quite different from a normal truck.

If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't hesitate to get another one, but I might consider getting a slightly used fullsize just purely for the extra power though.

when the tranny finally went on my 92 Chevy, I got an 05 Canyon, have had it just over a month, but it is smooth towing my 16ft lund.

From the owners manual it says ok to tow while in Drive (vs 3rd) unless the trans is shifting down often- is that a fair assumption or is it better to be safe and always tow in 3rd?
