titelines
I have a Motorguide Power Plus F48V bow mount. I believe it's a 1992 (came with the boat when I bought it). 48# thrust. It runs very well and there has never been a problem with it (I know the previous owner and it's been flawless for me in 3 seasons so far).I'll be getting a new trolling motor (just upgrading to a new one) and I'm wondering what your suggestions would be. I've looked around but can't find any info on this motor, and can't find similar motors that people may have for sale. 1) Could I put this on one of the auction sites or FM? If so, what do you think this thing is worth?2) Could I trade this in when I get the new one, like a car?3) Should I just take it to the pawn shop and take what they'll give me for it?Any other options? Thanks! CRFan1
I'd venture a guess at 50 bucks. Or maybe just consider giving it to someone who could really use it?
titelines
Yep, that's about what I figured. When the time comes I may just toss it on HSOList.com and give it to someone that needs it.Thanks!
SkunkedAgain
An 18 year old trolling motor isn't going to command much money, but that's just my opinion. You could tell me until you're blue in the face that it runs like a top, but at 18 years of use, most people won't invest much money in it when they can get a new one for a couple hundred.$50 is probably the max. I'd follow CRFan1's advice and either give it to somebody or sell it cheap on one of the auction sites. You likely won't make much money off of it no matter what, so at least you could find it a good home for somebody who can't afford anything better.
