Walleye Classics / Fins N Feathers Outdoor Challenge to air on FSN

Catch the action of the 2009 Walleye Classics year-end championship, the Buffalo Ridge Resort Fins & Feathers Outdoor Challenge, this Saturday (March 19) at 12 noon, on Fox Sports North (FSN or FS North). The top 3 teams from the 2009 Walleye Classics (Alexandria Chain of Lakes Spring Walleye Classic), and the Lake Minnewaska Fall Walleye Classic, will be competing in a weekend competitive pheasant hunt and walleye tournament in eastern South Dakota.

Teams featured in the show include Kenny Neumann of Glenwood, MN, and jack Greengo, from Alexandria, MN; Bryan Winterfeldt of Dassel, MN, and Darrin Herd, from Hutchinson, MN; and Dean Grochow and Tim Servin, from Dassel, MN.

Each team member was allowed a total of 3 shells to hit 3 pheasants with a guide and dog from point, for a possible 30 points per team member and 60 points per team. Point totals were transferred from the Day 1 Feathers Challenge to the Day 2 Fins Challenge, where inches were converted to points. Each team had a 4 walleye limit, and teams were required to keep track of who caught each fish on a scorecard, as individual points were also tabulated.

No pre-fishing was allowed for the Fins Challenge, making it a true test of each teams fishing abilities after none of them had ever fished on Lake Cochrane before.

The Buffalo Ridge Resort Fins & Feathers Outdoor Challenge will now be the year-end marquee event for the 2010 Spring and Fall Walleye Classics. The top 20% of the teams who fish both tournaments in Alexandria and Glenwood in 2010, will qualify for the "no entry fee" Fins & Feathers Outdoor Challenge, set for Oct. 16-17 in Gary, SD, with thousands of dollars in cash and prizes to be on the line.

The outdoor TV show will air under the title of Minnkota Outdoors TV / Fins & Feathers Outdoor Challenge at 12 noon this Saturday on FSN, and will air again on Saturday, April 3 at 12 noon on FSN.
