Maxxed Out
I just won sales contest at work and I'm getting a $1500 Am Ex card. So since the last contest I won went to baby stuff, I have approved it with my wife that this one is for me to reward myself and have get something I want. Sooo I've had my Benelli SBE for 10 years now and it's been a great gun, but I think it's time for a new one.My question is should I go with a new Benelli Vince or a SBEII or the New Beretta Extrema. Definately nees a 3 1/2' chamber. I know if I get the extrema i will not spring for the ad on in the stock to help with recoil (it's a shotgun, it's supposed to recoil). Has anyone heard anything about either one, or own either one? Thanks
carpshooterdeluxe
vinci is 3" chamber not 3.5" chamber. a few of the guys i hunt with run extremas, they seem to run pretty solid. they run cleaner than my super x2 thats for sure. with $1500 you could buy two pretty nice used guns...but thats just the closet gun nut in me speaking out... Rost
Well, you already have your sbe to use as your work horse. Now buy a benelli legacy sport ($1500) for trap and special hunts.
Maxxed Out
Yeah I just read the Vinci is a 3', so that's out and I also read the sticker on those is $1500 plus, so even if it was 3 1/2 I'd pass on that. I also read that the extrema has some coating on it to prevent moisture issues, pitting and rusting, so I like that. I've never had that happen, but it's nice to have that extra protection. I've always been happy with my SBE, and it's never froze on me, but it cycles significantly slower once you get into some of those cold November and December Goose and Pheasant hunts. jeepguy
For duck hunting I have to say the Nova is awesome, I know SBE's and the other expensive autos are great guns, but for a real work horse I go Nova pump, I see my too many thousand dollar autos have trouble in harsh conditions. I would keep the sbe, get a nice side by side for pheasant hunts and trap, and get a Nova or a supernova for duck hunting. Or buy a nova and spend the rest on all the other duck hunting stuff there is out there.
Maxxed Out
I know it's a good gun, but I don't think I could go back to a pump after 10 year of a semi-auto.
Ufatz
For sheer dependability buy a nice SXS, even a used one. No slowness in the cold, no complex take-down for cleaning and TWO instant shots. After all, how many times (be honest now) do you hit a bird with the third shot? 169Sportsman
Personally I would go with the Extrema 2. I just bought one myself and with the little shooting I have done it is awesome. And an FYI you dont have to spring for the Kick-Off you can get it free!!! Beretta has a promotion going that if you buy one without the kick-off you can send in a rebate and they will send you the kick off attachment free you just have to put it on. Or if you buy it with the kick off they will send u a bunch of gear worth 300 dollars. Which reminds me i have to get that sent in. lol Hope this helps. I may be able to hook ya up with a deal on the Beretta if you feel like comin to the south metro. Let me know.

Let me know what you have going on shoot me an email at graham @ maxxed out guides dot comHere's the follow up to this question thread, what do you think is fair value for my SBE with all chokes + patternmaster would be? It's in great shape, black with a few minor scratches (like an inch long. I'm not a guy that thinks I should get new price for a 10 year old shotgun, but I was thinking around 600-700, does that seem about right? dudewheresmyboat
Check out the new Browning Maxus, in 3.5 chamber its going for about 1200 in black. I prefer my SBE2, it shoots great!
96trigger
Maxxed out, find a used SBE on the shelf or go online, look at the average price, then take 80% of that, its what you should be able to get on trade. Some stores will do better than others, if not, ask a few friends, if its a good gun, maybe one of them will want it. I really have no idea what a used one is going for, but I have used that method before and it is very reliable.
Rost
How many rounds does your current SBE have through it? What is the reason you want to get rid of it for a new one?
