Just wandering how its been going recently? Is the water cold now? Planning on fishing on the miss by rogers and elk river area. Any tips or other places around there that is better? we usually do good but this year have been slow also havent been out much since spring, so not sure how this weather now is going to work for us tomorrow night.

thanks!

Actually right now is one of the better times of the year to be hitting the channel bite up this way and around ER. They are finished with spawning and putting on the :feed bag" for cooler temps with fall coming.

I never have had much luck during spring time/higher water times. If the current is up and flowing, they spread out too much. When the water is low and slow, they congregate in certain areas.

I would look for any holes deeper than 10-12', cut up some sucker on a 6/0 gama octi circle, on a med. action rod with 20-30ln mono, about 2-3 onces of bank or no-roll sinker and about 8-10" of leader from weight to the hook. Cast out at first right in the hole (boat or shore), put rod on Y stick or in holder and NO clicker. wink WSatch the tip and hope for a 15lb plus fish.

Between 2,3 or 4 guys, you hit it right, it is just like a good bite on the Chain during ice time. Just slightly bigger and a good chance at a 20lber and over 50 fish a night.

Good luck.
