Sounds like a Hitching Post deal? I still have the original plug in my wheeler (2003 Honda), and plan on having the same one for a long time to come. Getting the plug changed after ten hours is as ridiculous as it would be to have spark plugs changed in your car at every oil change.

Chengwatana east of Pine City, but not near as many miles of trails as the RED TOP.

I have a Rincon but no plow..............yet. A friend of mine has a plow on his Rincon and it works great. Pushes the snow just fine.

I've got both of my wheelers and both bikes (4 total machines) insured, with a smaller dedudctible, through AIG for less money than AmFam wanted for just the 2 Bikes. Thanks Ole!! I used to have everything through American Family and now have nothing through them. Autos and house went to AAA (saved me over $1400 a year from Am Fam's price for same/better coverage). So I upped my "toy fund" by about $1800/yr just for switching insurance companies (I wish the wife would see the savings the same way I do LOL).

Thanks for your help Mac.... LOL I'm outta here, gotta go catch a fish or 3. P.S. Going riding on the 5th, possibly Nemadji???

If you are more into quick trail riding and want a better handling more ergo correct machine the Honda wins hands down, it handles way better than the Polaris. If you want more of a work horse just for putting around and more utilitarian (i'd still buy the Honda, I have an 03 Rincon) you may want to look harder at the Polaris. They are both decent capable machines and seem to be pretty reliable.

I think they would have to be in new condition with lots of extras to get that much. They are a good machine but I think he is over priced by about $500+ on each one. But, just my opinion.

That sounds like the setup that I have. Best thing since sliced bread. Only negative that I could see is if a tire went flat on the wheeler while you were towing. There is a 1-800 number on them I think....they were on the trailer when I bought it so I don't know when/where they were purchased. I'll have to go and check for the 800# though.

I have AIG full coverage... comp $100 deduct, collision $250 deduct 03 Honda 650 Rincon $98/yr 05 Kawasaki KFX700 $121/yr 03 Honda 750 Shadow $112/yr 00 Honda 1100 Shadow $149/yr I probably get some kind of multi-vehicle discount, have decent credit and a clean driving record.

I had a set of 589 Titans on my Rincon. Heavy pigs that were about butt worthless in snow. They were heavy to steer all of the time and I just plain old didn't care for them (though they were decent in muddy situations). My stock radials were and are 100x the tire in snow. All the 589's would do is dig right through the snow and sink you in a hurry. If you are looking for a tire to use in snow I would probably lean toward a radial like the Maxxis Big Horn or an ITP ATR. Once my stock radials wear out (I only use them in the winter) I will probably get a set of ATR's. The radials just stay on top of the snow WAY better. They also get great traction (hard to believe by looking at them and their whimpy looking tread). Not that it is real visible but my avatar is a pic of my Rincon back when it had the 589's. If I remember right, the Titans were 6ply, had the dimples in the lugs and have a rim guard (rim guard is a great feature if you ride anywhere near rocks). The ITP's are 6ply, weigh less and have the same tread design/pattern.

My first wheeler was a 1981 Honda 200atc. I've also had an '82 185s, '82 200, '80 110, '84 200ES, '85 350x, '85 250R, '00 400ex, '00 Yamaha Blaster, '80 Yamaha yt125, '89 Yamaha Banshee. In my experience Honda wins in reliability without a doubt. My 400EX was the best machine I have ever had but problems with my left foot ended the manual shifting for me. I beat the hell out of that machine then my son continued to do the same. Now his freind will continue that tradition as we sold it to him and bought a new KFX700 Kawasaki so our family could have 2 fully automatic machine due to my wifes newly found interest in "some" riding. I have found that pretty much any machine I get will cost between $100-150 to insure, full coverage, for a year. Accesories are pretty abundant no matter what you have. A lot of things are universal. Certain things may take some "engineering" but most are simple bolt ons. I think as time goes on you'll see a wider and wider variety of machine as all of the manufacturers keep building more with more options and the machines themselves are becoming more and more popular and being more accepted as a useful tool and just a plain fun way to recreate. Here is a picture from Outing a couple of weeks ago, all manufacturers represented...

I'd have to agree with Mac. Your needs/wants may, and probably will, change. Most all of the people I ride with have switched machines atleast once. Also, depending on what type of towing you plan on doing with your machine, IRS may not be the way to go. I think a solid rear axle has a pretty good advantage here if you plan on anything with tongue weight. Though, I have known some people to make rigid struts to replace the rear shocks on the back of IRS machines so they can tow their fish houses in the winter then switch back to the shocks for other purposes. I currently own a Honda 650 Rincon 4x4(fully capable of turning larger than stock tires) and a Kawasaki KFX 700 2x4. I am pretty happy with both, though neither is perfect (no machine is). I haven't had any problems with the Rincon other than the stock battery crapping out after a year. I just bought the KFX in September and haven't had it out that much, but so far so good. I ride with Open Trails ATV club from time to time and it is usually a pretty large group when I do. They have all of the brands covered. Break down frequency has become less and less over the past couple of years but I would still have to say that Polaris gets the dump-out award, mostly seemed to be coolant leaking issues. You do see the occasional wet belt issue with the belt drive machines. My brother had a few issues with the front axles breaking joints on his 03 660 Grizzly and has a problem with his belt case taking on water. I still think it is hard to beat the Honda Foreman 450.... Air cooled, 5 speed, auto-clutch. Next to no maintenance.... change the oil/filter, clean the air filter, lube a cable from time to time. A very capable machine and extremely user friendly. If I weren't strictly a recreational user it would have been my first choice. All I do is trail ride so I opted for IRS with the Rincon. The KFX is mostly for my son/wife to use, though I will hop on from time to time.

A lot of the more aggressive tread tires will dig into the snow. I prefer my stock radials for the winter. I have Mudzilla's for the muck. I'm sure the ITP's would work fine though.

An 85 200s just went for $450 on hsolist within the last week, it looked really nice. I wish I would have bid but I forgot about the auction. Pretty sure I could have made a couple hundred reselling it (it was near the cities so shipping wasn't an issue). So, crappy down around $200 (if running) and nice with no fender cracks and runs ok up anywhere from 600-$1000 ($1000 would probably have to be practically new condition).

If the fuel isn't good enough for your wheeler then it probably isn't good enough for your auto. Why contaminate your auto's gas tank? If you are draining the tank on your wheeler, find a place to dispose the old stuff properly. I drive for a towing company from time-to-time and have actually had to tow vehicles that got the "old gas from the shed" dumped in their tanks. I'm not saying that you would break down if you do it, but why take the chance?

Here is my best pal, Chopper, just takin a snooze. -
DK says they price match but I think that is a bunch of hooey. If you go and pick something up from them at their store the price is what it says in the book. If you can find a place that has the same shipping policy, same COD policy they might match for you?? I have yet to find something they would match price on. It doesn't matter if you are there to pick it up or have it shipped, policies have to be the same on COD and free shipping on $100+ items for the price match to apply (so I was told). I have never gotten them to price match anything. I have also found that they are frequently out of stock on items that are supposedly in inventory (according to their HSOforum).

I got my Mudzilla's from tirewiz. I went and picked them up. They seemed like decent folks.

I'll try to get the HSOforum for and some pictures of the set up.
