Tilt solenoid blowing

I have a 71 Merc Cruiser that has blowed the second solenoid now in about three weeks of use. got me puzzled, any ideas. It will work going down but not up. thanks

Sam, clean the contacts and see if you have voltage at the solenoid with down trim button pressed. Or jump it as someone hits the down button. If nothing then go onto the limit switch. That is what I'm suspecting since you replaced the solenoid already. If the new one did go bad, I don't know of any reason other then just bad luck.
