What's the trick to storing these units? Leave the cables hooked to the battery with the battery monitor flashing or disconnect the positive terminal for long term storage? Any other suggestions/tips would be helpful. I'm a new owner and the manual was pretty skinny on this info. Thanks.

If you leave the cables connected there is a tiny amount of draw. If it's going to sit for a while before you use it disconnect them, otherwise leave them hooked up.

B Mac - Just wanted to echo Ron's post. To add to that, hook the unit up and top it off for about 10 min. or so once a month while your storing it. Doing this will keep your battery healthy and insure full life.
