grousehunter
What do you guys think is a good price for a 2002 alumnacraft yukon 165 tiller and 2000 yamaha 2 stroke with trailer? Looking at one online or for an alaskan/canadian older or newer, but was just wondering what a good price for this boat would be. it comes with some accesories to but figure i can add those up on my own. thanks for your opinions,Blake

fishinalot
Good motor, but might be a bit under powered.
grousehunter
its the max for the boat, the boat is only 630 pounds or something around that. thinking im going to buy it though. Does anyone have experience with this boat that would have the pros and cons of it after some use?
marine_man
I don't have any first hand experience with it, but it looks like a decent boat - kind of like a lund alaskan.I think the price might be a bit high, but that's a bit dependent on what kind of shape the boat / motor are in.It's in the ballpark for a good price though I would say.Good luck!marine_man
grousehunter
marine man...what do you think would be a good price if the outside of boat/engine are really good, but interior is probably 6-7 out of 10. has some paint chipping/flaking on rails and vinyl floor isnt the best condition. without any accesories except batteries and on board charger? marine_man
I'd offer between 5k and 5,500 to see what the reaction is. You're at a slight disadvantadge for much wheeling a dealing at this time of year... so the guy might hold out until open water hits to do much dealing on it.I would also check out the classifieds in the paper and online to see if you can find a similar boat (size, hp, features) to get a ballpark idea of what price they're going for. If you really have your heart set on this boat you might have to pay is price given the time of year.I'd also consider having a leak test done on the cylinders, or a compression test... the 50 hp Yamaha 2 stroke is a good motor that isn't known for problems, but it never hurts to be sure.Good luck!marine_man
fishinalot
With todays economy, you should be fine with an offer around $5000.
