Sifty
Do you guy's think with the current point system teams and drivers are looking more at "the big picture" instead of just going out and racing hard for the win? What if two cars are running hard at the end, would one lift and give the other the win just because of the big picture? I know there is racing smart but are they now racing just to be consistant (sp)?Sifty
harvey lee
I believe that if a team mate needs extra points for next year to get into the top 35, yes this could happen. Other than that no.
TNFL
I doubt it. Maybe at the last race if it would mean the difference between a championship and 2nd place, but that scenario is near impossible. Most guys are judged through out their career by wins, and they would not give up a win so easily. Now, they may be smarter about blocking a faster car, but nobody just pulls over and gives away a victory.
harvey lee
I dont think that it will happen up front but if Driver a is locked in the top 35 and driver b is not and a team mate, he may let him go by to gain a few more points if its close. I of course could also be wrong.
lawdog
I think Harv is right, no one will give away a win, and I HIGHLY doubt a team owner would ask a driver to give away a win because that would P.O. that car's sponsor big time. Now, back in the back that's a different story, if one guy needs points you can bet his teammate won't race him too hard for 21st place...
