New brand of dipper in town!!!

Another Northern Minnesota company has come out with a another great product. Finally someone came out with a dipper made for scooping SERIOUS ice out of a hole.

The Big Dipper features an extra long handle that allows you to scoop holes out without the need to get down on the ice or to scoop out holes where your fish house is blocked up off the ice. This handle design is also heavy enough to allow you to scoop even heavy slush from your holes without breaking or bending. With the extra heavy plastic bottom the "Big Dipper" can just be banged on the ice to clean off any ice build up.

Another great feature this dipper has is the measuring units on the handle. You can measure fish up to 29". This dipper even FLOATS for those of us that tend to drop the metal ones.

This will be the dipper I will be using this winter!!

Rick is going to be offering them as I understand it some time soon. They are worth looking at!!

Capt Josh,

Yes they do fit in there. I had to try it but with the large scoop part they do take up some room. I may put snaps on the Dipper handle and in my Polar Sled to hold this unit in place.

Hi Guys:
I'm glad The Big Dippers are getting such good pr. I really started building these scoopers because I felt the units available were all lacking in one aspect or another.

I designed The Big Dipper to do what I needed a scooper to do, and I used the toughest and most durable components I could find.
The scooping cone is made out of UHMW polyethelene. (the same ultra-tough,cold weather plastic used for snowmobile racing skis ). The scooper is coupled to the white ash hockey stick handle with 1/4 hardware, (yellow zinc hex bolts &washers, and zinc plated tee nuts) The handle is an actual Christian Hockey stick (cut down to 30"). It's long enough to grab with two hands and scoop/shovel slush, snow, or whatever.

In short it's really a three in one tool: a ice scooper-skimmer. a handy ruler for measuring slot fish. and a handy portable/ packable sized shovel. (32"overall length)

Jeff has a good idea for securing it inside his portable with snaps. It's also quite handy to bungee the Big Dipper to the handle bars of your fourwheeler or snowmobile.

There's an old Japanese proverb that says: "only a rich man can afford to buy cheap tools"
The Big Dipper costs a little more , but it's really comparing apples and oranges. Like a buddy who helped test these for me last winter said, " this thing is like the HumVee of ice scoopers"

Thanks and best regards, Mark Edevold

Mark, I like the Big Dipper! I will be buying mine soon. They look very tough and well made. Looks like it will be worth the extra few bucks! I've seen 'em in a few stores already. Looks like you've done your home work on the product and getting them out to the Market. Good luck and hope for early ICE!!! Bruce Mosher
