Drvie 75 and Crabgrass

I sprayed my yard with Drive 75 a week or so ago to help get rid of the established crabgrass that came up this spring. I mixed it .367 ounces per 1 gallon of water. Which I believe is what the directions state. It did not seem to even touch the crabgrass. Never turned yellow or anything. Does anybody know anything about this stuff? Did I mix it right, do I need to give it a second does soon?

Any advice would help. Thanks.

It is unliely that you are finding established crabgrass already, but anything is possible. I am will ing to bet you are looking at QUACKgrass and not CRABgrass. There isn't a post-emergent treatment for quack except for something like roundup.

Drive is an excellent product that I have used with great success. The only concern is any crabgrass treatment will be inneffective at one stage in the plants growth. I believe its the "2-tiller" of the plant, but a read of the product instructions will clear that up. It may be the 4tiller but I can''t say without looking it up. It is doing "outward" growing without taking in any nutrients so any product you apply will not work because the plant is not absorbing anything.

I say wait at least a week and then try again. In the meantime try to determine if you have real crabgrass or something else. It would be a waste of a very expensive chemical if you're working with QUACKgrass.

Powerstroke - Thanks. Sure looks like crab grass to me but, maybe I am wrong. If I can get a picture of it, I'll try to post it on here. Any way of getting rid of the quack grass besides making the lawn thicker? Does quack thrive on low moisture like crabgrass? Any help would be great, as I have a very nice lawn except for these intruders and I would like to get rid of it. As mentioned, I'll try to post a picture. Thanks.
