rundrave
Hunted the past 3 days with minimal success. Partly due to not finding the birds, and missing the ones we actually saw. Friday and saturday hunted near bridgewater. Friday was warm sunny with no wind. Saw alot of birds, but very few with a ring on the neck. Which is both good and bad I guess.Saturday was a very strange day weather wise. Expected cold and windy, but ended up warm again, and a very bad thunderstorm that ended the day early due to the half dollar size hail. Not fun out in the middle of the field! As for birds, success was minimal as the birds were just in the weirdest places. Will also note that we managed to shoot a coyote, this was one of two that we saw. May have played a role in our poor success, but atleast one of stupid things are gone.Sunday hunted near wagner area, where we have always had great success. The birds were very hard to come by. Either they are getting very smart, or there just isnt any around like there was earlier this season. Very windy today as well, made the birds hard to hit. Tried to hunt into the wind to try to get a bit closer, but either saw lots of hens, and no roosters, or just missed alot of shots. Even knocked some down that either kept on running or flushed again. Frustrating weekend, but was a good to get 3 days of hard hunting in regardless of the success. We took 4 guys out from Mn this weekend, didnt get their limit, but were still able to take back a few birds.
