I am going to hit Bitter this Sunday. I will be fishing with my grandpa who has been taking who has been doing decent flipping jigs tipped with a minnow near weedbeeds.

Has anybody been catching fish using any other methodology? Plastics? Rapalas? Worms?

Whats my best bet to outfish hin? What colors have been producting?

I will post the results next week. Thanks

Last Saturday was "ok" plulling plugs. Like Mike said nothing like it had been. Sunday was the worst day of fishing in three years. Hot and dead calm =======no bite.

I was out Lynn last Thurs 7-28, tried pulling cranks 15ft caught a couple. Then moved to tree's in evening and we probably caught 20. Slip bobber and leech were ticket. I also tried cattail the same day, 1 nice one and 1 little. On bitter are you fishin the south end or north, maybe it doesn't matter as long as your next weeds. Is Swim's gills bitin?

I haven't been out to bitter in a while but I'd try shallow runner raps in 7-9 ft with a slow troll. It's always worked well for me.

Does anyone know if the fishing is still hot late August through October? I'm planning a trip late August and mid October.

Talked to my gramps today. He just got off Bitter with 2 limits and said he threw 9 keepers back. That was at 2pm today. Said he was drifting with spinners and crawlers. Cant wait till get out there on Sunday. I don't know if he was North or South, but I will let you know how things turn out this weekend. I fished with him several times this spring and we always fished the south end, but I didn't ask him where he was this time.
