Ice House Battery charging Questions

I am told that I can run a wire from my lights hookup to the poitive of my house battery and that will charge the battery as i am going down the road. does this sound right?

That is not a good thing to do and i don't care who says it is. You can run a 10awg wire with a 30 amp circuit breaker from the battery of the tow vehicle and it will work great. If you hook to the lights you are probably going to knock you lights out.
