Ice House Numbers???

MNUser

Recommended Posts

I just finished my ice shack and have a question. This is what the DNR regs state:

"All shelters, which include dark houses, fish houses, and portable shelters, placed on the ice of Minnesota waters must have the complete name and address, driver’s license number or Minnesota DNR number of the owner plainly and legibly displayed on the outside in letters, and figures at least 2 inches in height."

What is the Minnesota DNR number? It says you can use your driver's lic. number but I really don't want that on the shack. Next I will be asked to place my VISA number with some picture ID people can take. Can anybody set me straight here? I tried calling the DNR but was on hold for over 20 minutes. I hung up. I should have thought, just go to Fishing MInnesota and you will have the answer in 10 minutes.

Thanks!

MNUser,

You are correct with the regs you posted. I think it will be a sad day when the DNR starts to hold you to the new reg. to the tee. I have all the info they ask for on my house, but trying to meet their standards and make it fit into the holder on my Otter was no easy task.

Good luck & take care, Tom (BD110)

Yea, that is what I was wondering. Does the DNR # stay the same from year to year? If I post it on the "house", does it stay the same? I was going to paint it on and I did not want to change it from year to year.

Good question.
