venting a gas (propane) fireplace from basement

I am trying to install a gas fireplace in our finished basement and the only easy venting is through the rim joist under a deck. I can't seem to find online installation directions that address this potential issue. Any experienced HVAC guys know about this? Any other option would run the vent about 30 feet to the other side of the house and I don't think that is allowed either.

You need the manual, every manufacturer has specific requirements. Typically, you need to be 18" below a deck/overhang etc.
