Non Conventional rigs

I know I should have atleast 4 rods on an out, but I only have two that I really like using. Alot of times I fish with a snap swivel at the end of my main line for easy changing between jig and cranks.

Now what ya think of me making Texas, Carolina, and drop shooting rigs, snelled up on a barrel swivel for easy changing? Or am I on to another bad idea.

Thanks everyone

Hmmmmm
I go with different rods, because each presentation requires a little different rod. (At least for my tastes)
T-Rig I use a fairly heavy rod.
Carolina I use a little more forgiving rod and a little longer.
I have never drop-shotted so not sure what I would do there.

Yeah just another one of your bad idea's. You could do that with a Carolina rig since you have to have a swivel and a weight about it anyway. I would not do it with Texas rigs. I direct so the weight can go over or to the top of the plastic. I don't do a lot of drop shoting but I don't think you want any more areas for line to break. The more knots and terminal tackle you use the greater the chance of breaking.

The only people I've really met in person from FM have Ebass, Daze Off, Dan Wood, & Hawgtide. They are all great guys and I've loved fishing with each of them. As for BLB, bill-e, Tonka boy, etc... I know them informally through FM & email and hope to meet them in person sometime soon.

I too am wondering just when we are all going to be able to meet for an outing. We've had a friendly "smallie magnet tourney" on the 'sippi in the workings since the end of last summer - this summer we'll get it put together.

BigLake - man am I jealous about your opener. I had a great week on Pool 2 a few weeks back and I only had about 15 - 20 NICE bass in a day and my thumb was shredded. Did you have to tape it up?

Yes, we'll all have to hook up. Now that Ebass is a Prostaffer, we'll let him do all the planning and thinking.

the only thing I don't like about bass fishing is. It's **** hard to hold a cold beer while pitching plastic.

Oh and IronMike will have to come too. He's supposed to be good at bassfishing.
We could have a friendly wager or something. And only used cranks and topwater baits.

The lake would have to be Tonka

Topwaters... Tonka... Bass... NICE!

Ok, so what was this whole thread about again - I feel like there should be a thread for miscellaneous whatevers that some of these threads produce. LOL.

Maybe in two weeks as Ebass and I have that week off. Maybe tonka? I only use 3 rods but like Mr. Special I really use two of them. I need to go get another spinning set up and then I should be set, but as Ebass says you can never have enough rods, reels, and tackle.

Good Fishin'...

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
