So, I'm extremely new to softwater cats, but I just moved to South Texas & there's a reservoir next to town that is full of channels, blues & flatties. From what I've gathered, they aren't huge but they get decent sized & there's alot of em! Here's a pic of part of the reservoir.

So, my question is, where do I look?! Flats, steep drops, deep, shallow, etc. To compare to MN waters, the largemouth just finished spawning. Water is a little stained with 2-3' visibility. Lots of standing timber. Also, I know flats like live bait so I was gonna cut the dorsal off a few sunnies & throw them out. What about blues & channels? Most guys that I've asked down here just use jug lines. Definitely not for me! Thanks for any tips!!
