dairyman
happened to be reading the new regs for 2014 and found the following---"Use of gas and electric motors, underwater cameras, augers, and other electronic fish-finding devices is prohibited" I saw that listed under some lakes and found it rather strange, especially the one about electronic fish finding devices. They were listed on page 38 under a few of the lakes
icefisker
That restriction has been on Annie Battle Lake for some time... I am assuming to create a more rustic experience in the State Park. Only 9,999 other lakes to fish with you finder i guess!Actually a pretty good explanation of the reason if you do a search on the DNR Lake Finder. dairyman
Because I enjoy my electronics so much that if I forgot my locator I would turn around and go home to get it
icefisker
I hear ya there, i would do the same thing! Funny how that is! My fish finder went out on my boat last summer and i pouted and went home instead of fish. LOL! I actually think it is kinda nice to have a few options available exclusively for that kind of fishing experience. Dont forget, not too long ago, that was the only way! Also a good way to teach kids the fundamentals. The DNR report really put it into perspective, once they opened up the fishing to the public (and with the help of all our technology) the lake got hammered.
