Wheel house interior

Just wondering if anyone has tried the Tarkett laminate flooring material for the interior walls of a wheel house? It's about 1/2 the price of T&G pine and would look nice but would it hold up without separation?

What do you use for flooring, vinyl or outdoor carpet?

It's hard to say if that stuff would hold up. I used tounge and groove pine that is 5/16 thick it holds up very well. I have indoor outdoor carpet if i could do it again i would have put the rubber flooring in easier to clean. I think you can buy it through fish house supply.

That's an interesting thought, Tarkette laminate on walls! My gut reaction is that the humidity and moisture may get to it in both winter and summer storage. But I don't really know. I would suggest giving Tarkette product support a call. Although I have found thru experience that they will be trained to say that nothing will work except the way their manufacturer's instructions say to use it. But you never know when you might get someone with an open mind or someone who could give you some ideas for the best chance of success.

I would say follow the manufacturers instructions for expansion and contraction around the perimeter and install vertically. I think you would also need a "feature strip" at the 4' height (the planks are 4' long) that is fit loose and screw holes overdrilled to allow for movement. With some time spent on planning, it may work. How about you be the first one to try it? You could be a legend if it works grin

But I sure wouldn't use it on tne floor. That stuff is slippery!!
