Pull behind mowers?

I want to find a mower for my ATV for mowing foodplots and trails through my CRP? Whats really the difference between the "brush mower" and the "finish mower"? the engine and body size, tires... they look identical. Is it just the blades?

Just curious if anyone has mowers like this and what a guy can get by with.

thanks!

I just purchased the swisher 44" rough cut mower last week. The difference in the two is the mounting of the blades. Finish mower they are mounted like regular mower in fixed position. Rough cut - they are mounted so they are allowed to kick back if they hit a stump or something and not wreck everything. I'm sure the finish mower will get you a better cut, but I am just cuttting trails and food plots too, and it worked fine. Some of the longer, thicker stuff I went over a couple times to make it look a little better, but once was plenty with most. But the blades still get dinged if you hit rocks, which I banged a couple no matter how careful I was.

Roughcut all the way for anything outside of mowing your lawn.

My roughcut has taken a beating and sadly looks like it too. But the thing is a beast of a mower.

I'll be mowing all my clover this weekend, all the trails, ditches along the driveway at the farm.

I also have used it to mow down winter ryein late summer so I can disc it down to reseed.

Mow all my beans and corn down in the spring with it before tilling.

Its got ooodles of hours and been pretty dang good.

Slim I have a 44" ranch king, it's a few years old and it shows it works good but it's only an 8 hp motor, I would recommend NOT getting an 8 hp. As mentioned earlier go with a 12.5 or so. The 8 is just too small and slow when you get some thick stuff. Otherwise, I love mine, I use it a lot.
