Dumb boating question.

I live in MN and I have never spent any time fishing in Wisconsin. If I take my boat and canoe to WI for the weekend to fish and have some fun, do I need to license the boat in WI? Or is it like a car, where I have my MN tabs, and it doesn't matter where I am driving? Thanks, and I apologize for my ignorance.

Your Minnesota boat & trailer license are good unless you plan on leaving your boat in the water for 90 consecutive days over there.

I have fished in WI a few times this year and just had my MN boat license and WI fishing license, I think it is like the car thing you mentioned. It has been proposed but never made official

Nick is right. Your Minnespta boat license is good in WI for 90 days. You will need a WI fishing license though.
