Where to donate

It depends where you are. Bemidji Take a Kid Fishing gets some and we clean them up or fix them if needed and they are given to kids that need them. To date there has been over 4000 rods and reels handed out.

Almost every area has a group that takes people fishing. Check with old folks homes, town group center, fishing clubs, etc. Our small area has kids and elderly groups that go out on pontoons each year. Kids get to keep their poles and a tackle pack.

Foster homes and group homes are another good choice to donate fishing equipment. A quick call the local Human Services will yield you some Leeds to whom may be in need.

And...well done, very commendable of you...ATA BOY!!!!

I donated a bunch of rods I didn't use anymore to Gander a few years ago. Is there anywhere that takes tackle boxes? I have probably 7 or 8 of the plastic plano boxes that are just taking up real estate in the garage and I would rather see them go to someone who could use them.
