Paul
So I am rebuilding the floor of my Pro-V and and using a roll on Tuff-Coat instead of Carpet, and thinking maybe I should add a floor drain to keep water off the floor, what is your opinion? scsavre
I cant see a drain doing much harm. It could at least promote good air flow in the boat. Who knows. In my Nitro, there is no funneling leading to my drain. So it doesnt really do a heck of a lot. If there is a lot of water it helps though. In my Crestliner, I dont even know if there is one. I know, not much help.

Paul
Well, My rubber tuff coat showed up in the mail yesterday, so Tommorow I start to prime it. I was visiting with Ed over at Gander in Fargo (member of red river forum) and we talked about the rubber floor a bit, said he has used it on the bottom of a Jon boat and it worked great. Now I get to see how hard it is to use. I was hopeing to be floating by Sunday but not so sure now. this colder rainiy weather has put a halt on my productivty outside. RK
Hiya - Drain if you can, but one thing to consider is whether or not the drain has a clear path to the bilge so all the sand and scuzz that gets washed in there has a route to the transom drain hole. I helped a friend pull the floor up on his boat years ago and I bet there was 80 pounds of sand under the floor because a strut that held the gas tank in place made a dam between his floor drain and the bilge...Cheers,Rob Kimm
LightningBG
Maybe a drain with a hose to the back? As long as there aren't any high spots the hose would have to go over.
Paul
well got the rubber floor done, and I love it. Has some great sound deading properties as well as great slip resistance. Still have to do the casting deck, and a few door lids but everythign else looks good. I did not do a floor drain for now, I figured I wouuld wait and see how it goes.
