The Grebe
Of all things...yesterday about 2:00 p.m., my nephew and I were turning onto #81 out in Osseo, right by Osseo Meats, right where all the construction is going on and in a little strip of grass down close to where the clock and the lights are on Osseo's main street, sits a Chukker partrige just a pickin away at whatever it was it was finding. Man what a pretty bird...must be an escapee from a game farm?
NoWiser
Ha ha! Last year in New Prague I was driving home from work and I had to stop my truck and wait for a chukar to cross the street (in the middle of the crosswalk, of course) by the middle school. My first thoughts were "too much construction adhesive", but it was real. You are right, cool looking birds!
Chef
We have an entire Covey that hangs out right outsode our office here in Woodbury. We have a nice sized wetland/woods behind us and some guy close to here likes to release them and Pheasants.I weaved my way through the Chuks leaving work the other day and yesterday morning I saw that someone wasn't too kind and smashed 3 of them into the pavement with their vehicle.
