Trophy Fish!

NOT! Well, actually, maybe a trophy fish--for a Barbie doll!!!!

Went out to Shady Oak yesterday. Beautiful day, but not good fishing. No nothing till very late. Then I was on the dock and saw many bubbles. Cast toward them, and saw a number of good-sized sunfish examining my lure/worm. They looked very interested, but just floated there staring at it and teasing me.

I kept at it, and finally felt a tug. Great, I thought, a sunnie! And then I flipped my big catch onto the dock and got a look at it. It looked like a tiny miniature bass. Cute little stripes. This fish was so small that when I held it in the palm of my hand and closed my hand, you could only see the tiniest amount of tail fin sticking out. I have LURES bigger than this guy!!!

He looked as shocked to see me as I was to see him. But unharmed. So I sent him back to his Momma.

I guess you could think of it this way at least you caught something and that was a funny story.

This is true. How many fisherpeople brag after an outing about "how big the one that got away was"? I get to brag about how small the one I sent back was!
