Service 4 wheel Drive

2003 Silverado... periodically my information center reads "service 4 wheel drive" and the little red indicator light on the Neutral position on the 4 wheel drive center is illuminated. Truck drives just fine. If I put the truck in nuetral and push the button for 2 or 4 wheel drive it illuminates the yellow indicator light and goes into 2 or 4 wheel drive. Everything works OK. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is the switch failing?

I had a similar problem with my 2000 silverado and the problem was the switch.

Mine too. Anyone know how hard it is to replace one? or what it costs for parts?

If I remember right its around $100 for the switch. Had to have mine replaced twice on my 2000 so far.
