Des Moines Camping?

Any suggestions on camping close to Des Moines? I will be taking my brother down to the Iowa State Fair so he can do a bench press competition on the 16th. The weigh-ins are at 730am and were coming down from Austin mn so we want to camp somewhere the night of the 15th. We don't want anything special, somewhere we can just throw a tent up that night and head out the next day. Any suggestions are appreciated!

U could try the adventureland campground, state fair campgrounds, saylorville campgrounds, *i'm trying to think off the top of my head as I'm from Iowa myself. heh*

Using just a tent for the nights, not needing services. You should have no trouble camping right on the fair grounds. Then you can basically walk right to the event.

Saylorville is a great park I have been there a couple of times and really enjoyed myself
