Ice Conditions

I'm planning on heading to the White Iron/Farm Lake chain near Ely Minnesota on Martin Luther King weekend. I need to cross the ice with a full size pickup and pulling a single axel trailer loaded to about 3000 pounds. Will it be safe? What is the ice thickness now? Of course it sounds like there will be ice being made this week. Thanks in advance for any knowledge/advice.
