meathunter
Has anyone used these built in maps? How are the contours? Is lake of the woods on them? Can you still use a lakemaster chip? Thanks for your input.
Central Bassman
I have used them and look at them many times in the stores, I don’t think lake of the wood is on them. No, they aren’t that good. They are just like the maps you can get on the DNR HSOforum. The units are great and if you are going to spend the money for one, you might as well just spend the money and a lakemaster or navionics chip. They would work nice for lake that you would only go to ones in your life, but most of the time if you are only going to a lake ones it’s for a vacation and it’s a big/known body of water that would be on that chip. Hope that helps
LMITOUT
Many of the new Lowrance graphs have the maps built right in, even the ones without the HD. The maps are identical to what you'd get on a Lakemaster chip which are more or less the DNR maps, but they do not have the high definition maps which the Lakemaster does. The Lakemaster/DNR maps aren't that bad at all. Sure, there is some structure missing from those maps, but for the most part they are very usable. You can run the Lakemaster in these locators without any problems, and that's what I run in my LCX-28cHD and LMS-520c.I am not sure about LOW though. If it is on there, it won't be the HD map with 1' contours I'm fairly certain.
