The boat is a 1997 Pro V and the motor is a 1997 Johnson 115 Fastrike. The issue I have is after running from the landing to the fishing spot and sitting there for 30-45 minutes, restarting the motor turnes into a start/die, start/die situation until you reprime the motor. The primer bulb goes soft sitting there for that little while. The motor starts and runs fine cold.
I changed the primer bulb and fuel inlet hose earlier in the year and that didn't help anything.
I don't know if this a related issue or not but after the motor is started (restarted after it's warm) you kind of have to baby it get into any throttle above idle. It kind of acts like a (I am really dating myself here) like back in the day when vehicles had carburetors and the accelorator pump was bad. The motor runs great at WOT once you get there and after you get thru the off idle issue it pulls real strong.
Can any of you 2 stroke masters figure this out?
By the way, the gas is good and has sea foam in it, compression is within 3 psi of each other.
Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe. I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho. Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
The water looked and smelled disgusting with hundreds of thousands of birds sh*tting in there. About as gross as the Salton Sea. When I duck hunted there I didn't even want to touch the water.
It's kinda gross with the algae in the summer but I got in it anyway. Wanted to see the increased bouyancy at work. You can kinda tuck yourself into a ball and you'll just float with your head above water. When dry off you look diamond encrusted with the salt.
We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there, but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
