ZDavidMiller
Does any body know what the deer are eating this time of year up in and around the paper mill country? Even better if anyone had any information regarding their anual diet changes that would be fantastic. Also where do these deer tend to bed? Thank you for your time. nitroant
We were up last weekend and I would say the same food source as always- twigs, tree buds, grass if they can still find it. The logged areas we walked around in had brush with all the bud ends nibbled off already. A few does we seen on the logging roads were grabbing what was left of grasses. Not the best food for grwing big racks, but there must be some around. Where they bed? well, I think its still probably about anywhere they feel safe, but in the coming weeks it seems like they move closer to the swamp and low area edges and in the thicker pine groves.
