lure question

hey guys. i just bought some pre-packaged 1 1/2 - 2" shiner minnows. anyone use these with success and would you suggest them on regular hooks (if so, which size) or could i throw them on some jigheads. for $1.50 i wanted to try them out. also, what size power minnows do you use for crappies. i couldnt find any 2" at Dick's, and i thought 3's would be pushing it. thanks guys

If you couldn't find the 2" Power Minnows at Dick's check out Fleet Farm. They carry a good assortment of Power Baits.

As for the shiner minnows, I have never tried them. I would fish them on small jighead and simply cast/retrieve with small lift and falls. Or fish them under a float. Give the float a few twitches to give the bait a lifelike motion. If the fish are in real shallow water, try fishing them on a bare hook. Red would be a good choice for hook color.
