waltinader
I was wondering if anyone has been hunting snow geese out in western minnesota into the border of South Dakota. Im going out there over spring break. I know they fly through there but I know you have to hit it at the right times and was wondering if anyone has been seeing any latley. Flick
You might be in for a frustrating hunt if your gonna be in MN, although im sure there will be a few birds. Id head as far south and west as you could though.
Sko
I saw a rather large flock of snows on the ground tonight just east of the SD border on Hwy 19. They were way out there, but there was so many of them, that the ground was white. Lots of Canadas working their way through as well, but this was the first flock of snows I saw all week. In South Dakota, I saw thousands north of Brookings (clouds of them in the distance) and several large flocks heading west over Brookings. With Snow coming down tonight to the west and north, they will not be going anywhere for a while. After Sunday, they may have to head south again...if we get the snow they are calling for. walleyeking#8
A buddy I work with was out in South Dakota all weekend in the DeSmet area. Only bagged 7 birds all weekend. He said it was tough hunting, probably because there were so many hunters in the area he was hunting. He said there were a lot of birds, but he was thinking it would be better in a couple of weeks. Now that they are talking another possible snow storm, that ought to halt them birds for a little while.
IceHawk
Our group has decided to hit the last 2 weeks in March. I hope it works out for the best. With the colder temps and snow I think alot of geese will drop S looking for better conditions.
